STAGE YOUR CITY
by European Theater Lab
How do we want to live in the digital future? What makes our lives warm and human that needs to be preserved? What could happen when the machines take over ? The interactive multi-media theatre project STAGE YOUR CITY playfully investigates these questions in a fairy tale story and combines live acting, AR, 3D video and an app-based city walk.

Three partner theatres - Kote Marjanishvilli State Theatre Tbilisi, Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Théatre de la Manufacture Nancy - have beent developing the project together with the theatre and media artists Bruno Cohen and Chris Ziegler, experts from ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Jan Gerigk and Bernd Lintermann, and the digital expert and app developer Lasha Kvantiliani. The production’s performances will be taylor-made for each of the three cities (and some more) with local actors, local games, and site-specific topics.
One year after the first meeting and six months before the first premiere of STAGE YOUR CITY as the opening of the RING Festival Nancy on 12 April 2018, the purpose of this OpenLab is to make the ends of the process meet : The partners need to combine the overall storyline with three mini-dramas written by a German, French and Georgian playwright, the prologue installation, the app structure with several games, and, last not least, a surprising theatrical ending.
