Chris Ziegler redefines Ovid's Pygmalion, the famous myth of the artist who falls in love with the creature he himself created, in close collaboration with dancer Unita Gay Galiluyo and composer Hugo Paquete. A body in morphogenesis. A solo performance that uses digital, visual, sensory and material interactions to create a body of images and sounds. CORPUS articulates a process of interaction between artists* and their artifact in a feedback loop. Where is the boundary between analog and digital, where do glitches occur in the transformation? Where "the apparatus" first needs the visible body in full size to create images, CORPUS first reproduces the perception of an animated figure before the body is revealed.
